This will end up in court if it's more than the car damage. There will be subrogation between the insurance carriers, especially if any injury comes to light (the mechanic allegedly under the car at the time). The next claim from the mechanic, if there wasn't actual physical injury, will be mental and emotional trauma.

It would be interesting to see the outcome. It's obvious how this happened. the lift pad has a crowned lower surface, and it's clear the pad of the jack was not centered and the car slid off due to 1) the lift pad crown, and 2) improper placement of the jack. The experts will argue in court, and I'll bet some blame will get assigned to both parties. ZL1addons will be pulled in for the design, but the OP will probably come out okay as he never told them to use the lift pads.
