From what I've seen, there's at least one person here, whom I always refer to, that has experienced auto-X/track issues with a tank-tapped-aux' pump. He had a DSX aux' and fuel would slosh away from the pick-up, and pressure would drop. That would happen at less than a 1/2-tank or something... Travis Lambert is his name. He has a great thread about his build and troubles.

It seems to me that if you do more than just highway digs/pulls, and it has any corners, you need something with an OEM-style bucket (or some sort of elaborate low-side with a surge tank). FORE is bad-@$$-top-notch, but I'm not sure, without some sort of surge tank or something like that, that it will keep good pressure on anything less than a half tank of fuel while going around the course/track. I think DW, Katech, and DSX all make buckets (drop-ins) with upgraded pumps (and mostly drop-in). It sounds like DSX's bucket has the highest potential, and, of course, it's the most expensive, but that dude doesn't mess around. It's pretty much full billet and everything you'd probably expect for $2K. I know I hate all the loose OEM-type flex tubes dangling everywhere on the others, getting caught-up on all sorts of mess during the install, so the DSX is pretty nice, IMHO. Worth $500?... I don't know...

Unless you go full custom, I'd suggest thinking about those drop-ins for what you're talking about. I've had direct experience with the Katech, and have had (and removed) the DSX aux' pump (and am probably going to sell it - feel free to let me know - less than a year's use, and less than 1000-miles on it), but have no horse in the race. I feel better with what I have now, despite some self-inflicted (most likely) issues. I like the Katech for a direct drop-in and pretty easy tuning (so far). I don't plan on more power than where I'm at now, and this bucket leaves plenty of headroom.
