I owned my 850 for 2 years and took it to the drag strip four or five times. I had no issues with any work that Hennessy did on the car which I have said here numerous times.
Then I put a 2650, low side fuel pump and larger throttle body on and it made 1150 bhp. That version of the engine spent a lot of time at 7000 RPMs and when I sold it the harmonic balancer was busted and a lifter had seized and the thrust bearing was going out. So I proved you can tear one up if you try hard enough
