Just wanted to get a thread on this as both google and forum searches have produced few results. Mostly because the "LT1" key phrase gives so many non-Gen 5 results, hard to filter out in a google. Hope to get some feedback from others who have upgraded to ARP hardware, in case there's something I missed trying to figure out a few WTF moments.
I tried to upgrade as much fastener hardware as possible on my build, I've always been a fan of ARP on all my Ford builds, you could get virtually everything in ARP hardware and it works great, and of course, REUSABLE!
I feel like ARP has really let down the Gen 5 LT's this time around. I order ARP Rocker Arm Studs, but can't use them with my CHE trunions. The hat on the nut is too wide to fit within the flat of the trunion. So for now, I'm going to re-use the OEM bolts. Also, the ARP Studs would not have fit the OEM trunions either. There are 4 dimples that make you kind of thread the bolts through the trunion, and onto the head. It is the same for the ARP studs, the rocker won't slide over the stud, it gets caught on the trunion dimples. You ~could~ thread the stud onto the rocker, and then install the stud with the rocker on to the head. But that's not right. And not how a stud should work.
((ARP actually told me to drill out my trunions to make them fit the stud...

))
So no ARP studs for LT rockers? That's not what the package says!
Also ordered ARP flywheel bolts. You can imagine my disappointment when I tried to put a socket on one. Of course later, I did find a post by oldman stating the same... wish I saw that post before I ordered them and tried to install. Again, package says 6.2 LT1 SBC. Yet, you can't use them. No method on earth, no modified tool exists. So ARP just made them and never actually applied them?
I'll be on the phone with ARP today to talk refunds and criticize them, lol. If you can only use ARP hardware under specific circumstances, that's something they should disclose with the product and instructions.
GM wins again, unfortunately. $90 for a set of flywheel bolts. No wonder share holders can't get enough of GM, lol.
