Just finished replacing my fan/shroud. Did it less than an hour was not hard at all. The replacement was a GM part from the dealer with the veterans discount was $318.
Remove the air box and the intake hose. And then remove the Upper radiator hose and the smaller hose above it. Both have pinch clamps. Keep in mind, you will lose a quarter of a gallon of coolant. Remove the two bolts holding the fan to the radiator on each side. And then lift up and to the left careful negotiating the lower radiator hose.
Take your time and you will save yourself a lot of downtime and $1000 at Stealership.
