They have a direct fit bracket for the Whipple 2.9, so that should be smooth sailing (no pun intended lol). I ran my Smoothboost on my Kong-ported 2.9 and it helped with the idle and transition into boost, not to mention the adjustable boost level.
And when you upgrade to the 3.0, it’s just a swap of the $30 mounting bracket and you’re back in business.
