Granted, the 720S doesn't sound exactly the same as the C8 Z06 or a typical Ferrari (I've heard them all in person, by the way), but the overall characteristics are very similar, screaming high revving FPC DOHC sound with some individual character because of the subtle differences in throttle body / header / muffler arrangements, and this is where individual taste comes in. I'm not impressed by the sound of Formula 1 cars that rev to 15K either.
It'd be nice to drive a C8 Z06 indeed, it is most likely a very good car, but chances are nobody will let me borrow theirs and there's no way I'll plop down $150-200K for one . I know I drive "only" an SS and you ZL1 folks will never have real appreciation for anything but the top dog no matter the mods and power level, but that's all good, too At the end of the day these are amazing cars, I'm enjoying mine thoroughly, and am pretty sure you are happy with both (all?) of those beauties in your garage, too, and that's what really matters.

Not all zl1 owners feel that way, I owned a 6th Gen ss prior to getting my zl1. They are great cars and have their pros and cons compared to the zl1. The fact that you basically turned your ss into a zl1, or possibly a lighter weight zl1 with more power says a lot about the platform. At my time of purchase, I loved the ss but just wanted more power along with a full warranty and that fit the bill. Love your build, enjoy it until they don't sell anymore petrol.
Ps I've never really wanted or purchased a corvette for various reasons. Love my front engine rear wheel design and wouldn't have it any other way. Can have your oversteer fun when you like, or keep it in check and use mid corner throttle input to rotate the car. However there are times when you mash the throttle mid corner and the thing straight sticks and goes because of ptm. The camaro pushes that design platform about as far as it will go, each configuration has their respective pros, and cons. Enjoy!
