I'm able to do that with my car, safely, when I drive to and from work. I don't have many good curvy roads around me so I do it where I can when I'm not on a road course.
If you're never going to track your car and can't deal with the brake dust, just buy the Powerstops and call it a day. Hang onto the OEM pads if you ever do decide to go to a road course.

Exactly what I did... Not tracking, have the original pads in box but have the PowerStop Z26 pads installed for super low dust...
