Only 2999 were sold to public. If you have a 2017, there will be a market in the future based on this background for a Camaro enthusiast. They also have the short run rectangular tail lights that some find more desirable. I'll keep mine indefinitely and enjoy it as much as possible. I have no intentions of selling. Having owned Camaro's since the 70's (starting with a Gen 1), there's never been a time in my lifetime where there wasn't a fan base for these cars.

Production of the 6th gen ZL1 started in October of 2016, not November. I know this because the build date of my ZL1 is October 20, 2016.
I’m pretty confident my car was built during the very first week of production. Only ZL1s with the 6 spd manual transmission were built during the initial production run. The A10s and convertibles started production in February of 2017.
Chevy unveiled the 2018 ZL1 1LE in February of 2017 during Speed Week at Daytona.

As you can imagine, folks who had ZL1 orders waiting on production when none too happy that Chevy introduced a new package less than five months into production of the 6th gen ZL1.
