I find the shape of the shifter lends itself to be handled with the "thumbs down approach". I find it kind of uncomfortable to "gorilla grip" it (I dunno, guess I'll call it that). Glad I got used to it that way, never thought of this happening (I've never moneyshifted so it's not on my mind).
MyNamels, to add to Hostile_1le's description, they call it the money shift because it when it happens it's gonna cost you money.
