Here's some data in the SC3R favor. I'd go as far to say as the SC3R is the best Track tire other than a slick. Not even Michelin can beat it as far as consistency is concerned. July 18th, 2022 was my best session ever at NJMP. Running 1:29s consistently other than laps with traffic. I started the session with 26psi and ended up around 34psi hot. 32-34psi hot is the sweet spot for these tires when coming off of the track. It was approx. 90*F ambient that day. A very hot day. Tire temps reached approximately 210*F. The SC3R love heat and if you're not getting them hot enough, you're not getting them in their best operating range.
Attached is the data for a 25 minute run. Most clubs run 15-20 minute sessions and most guys don't have the stamina to run a full session. I can't recall if it was open track. It may have been. Laps, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 all had traffic taking me out of the 29s. I finally got tired around lap 14 which explains the times dropping off. With clear track I would have completed at least 9 or 10 laps in the 29s. For reference, local fast guys run 1:32-1:34 on average. 1:35-1:38 are the gatekeepers. 1:30 and Sub 1:30 are race times.
Not only did the tires remain consistent, they were predictable. The car's oil and water temps were all in line. The brakes showed no fade. They were stock rotors and pads, with Castrol SRF fluid. As a matter of fact, my car was mostly stock here, running on pump 93, with BMR sway bar linkages, and cradle braces which may not really be any better than stock if we're being completely honest.
