Yeah, so with 12s you're less likely to hit the strut and more likely to hit the fender as there's more wheel toward the outside and a tire will be less pinched.

I have a friend who has run 335/30/18 BFGs on this setup with coilovers, but this depends on firmer than stock suspension to avoid rubbing on the fenders. My 295 setup is VERY close to the front fenders but so far so good... no rubbing on the strut or fender.

As with everything YMMV, I make no guarantees. It works for me though, and I posted this as I rarely see folks going 18x12, perhaps because, like me, they listened to other folks who said it wasn't possible. It IS possible, and it's a faster setup than 11s up front in my case.
