Just in case someone reads the previous post (from that spam bot) and decides to buy the Blackvue based on that advice, I've had their dash cams since 2017 and they are good, but far from perfect.

The 4K front camera is just about enough for plate/driver identification from a reasonable distance, meaning when the other car is farther ahead or to the side, not practically parked right ahead of your from bumper.

More recently, the Blackvue app has gone almost unusable, its wifi connection has become spotty, half the time it's unable to switch to the live view, camera detection is much less than reliable (my hardware hasn't changed at all), and its aggressive push of their cloud subscription is now highly obnoxious.

I'm starting to be concerned about usability if an accident happens and I need the footage right then and there, short of yanking the SD card and slapping it into the phone---based on my recent app experience I'm almost sure it won't work either due to some random custom video format issue, although I'll have to test that...
