It should come out simply by pulling it away, the bulb itself looks like the picture below. Old bulbs can get stuck pretty bad in there, unfortunately.

Try not to exert too much strength and break it, because then it may be even more difficult to get all the pieces out completely. I'd try to loosen it by dripping isopropyl alcohol into the socket, you probably have that at home.
