If you compare the specs of the tire side by side, the 285 is actually shorter than the factory tire. The 295 actually matches up better with the factory tire.
I am planning to switch to A/S tires on a second new set of rims (I want to be able to drive when below 40 degrees outside). I was actually looking at 275/35/20 front tire for more sidewall height...
