Hi guys, I just wanted to share this story...
So I had an order in for a 2SS 6m with my salesman at the dealership since summer. Every week I check, and never accepted by GM. Last week was the final allocation, so I called the salesman just to make sure. He said sorry, we only got one Camaro allocation this week and it had to go to the guy who ordered a few months before you... He was nice and gave me some leads on other new ones in-transit and even a nice used one. Ive been actively calling around, but they are selling so fast.
Now, there happens to be another dealership nearby (mostly sells all trucks) that I stopped in at this summer, but they wanted $1000 deposit to order one - without having any allocations. I said sorry, I don't want to pay that, but please call me if you get an allocation we can talk... Well I never heard back from this 2nd dealership. No call, email, or text. I figured they forgot about me or didn't take me seriously.
This morning I get a call from the 2nd dealership, and he says -"we got one allocation for a Camaro last week, and my manager asked me if I had any ideas what to order. I found your spec sheet and gave it to him. He called me back and said this order would never get picked up, because it is Manual shift, and the 6M is on constraint..." He then explained that the manager put a few different orders in the computer to try and get anything picked up so they had one last Camaro to sell on the lot. Somehow GM picked my order to accept! And now it is awaiting TPW he said.
He emailed me the order number and I verified on the GM chat, it said:
"your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors, and is moving toward the production process."
Needless to say, I paid him his $1000 immediately
I know this does not guarantee it will be built, but it brightened my day to know there is a chance at least!
