I just ordered a new Prometh pump. My pump isn’t bad and has never leaked but I am changing it due to it being 5 years old and it being on 100% methanol. I am considering switching to a water ethanol mix for a little cooling and it being less corrosive. To the OP, if you do decide to run methanol, do a trunk tank. It will keep your pump out of the elements. You won’t have water running into the pump. Mount your pump horizontally. You don’t want a methanol leak going through the cracks of the pump and seazing the bearing. I can’t stress enough to always check your tank level. Test the system before every drive and make sure you feel the car stumble and go rich on your AFR gauge. If it doesn’t go rich do not go wide open throttle. Check your pump for leaks often, use braided stainless line, not the cheap plastic stuff that can melt or rub through causing a fire. Lastly, pull your jets every six months and drop them in an ultra sonic cleaner, take them apart and run a fine speaker wire through the orifice. It’s something that you must always be mindful of. I’m in the camp that it could go at any moment. I’ve had a good run but I’m always thinking about it. With bigger injectors and port systems out there now I would consider those before going this route again. It’s great and makes power but that comes with major responsibility
