I know this has been debated about needing to change the oil at 500 and 1500 miles and I could not find where I had read that. I finally found a document that states it.

Section 1 Engine Oil Maintenance

Check engine oil with every refueling and add if
necessary (oil and fuel consumption may be higher
than normal during the first 1,500 miles)
Please note: It is recommended that the first oil change occur
at 500 miles.
