I bought a 70 LS6 Chevelle, with 30k miles on it and not a scratch on it for $1800.00 in 1974. Through the 70's and even part of the 80's, I owned a long list of Z-28, SS Camaro's, Big Block SS Chevelle's, etc, that due to first the Arab embargo on oil and later as those "older" Muscle cars sort of fell out of style with the general public, I paid stupid cheap prices for all of them. If I had left them all in the garage and waited a few decades, I would have made a fortune on them for sure. But...I can't put a value on how much fun I had owning and driving them. Today at 67 years of age, it doesn't matter as I won't live long enough to truly find out what happens on these cars so while I won't use the ZL1 as a daily (although I certainly could and did with my 2015 2 SS) and it will never see rain, I sure am not going to pass up enjoying it while I can. YMMV but we never know what tomorrow may bring and I like to live with the philosophy of, plan for tomorrow, but live for today. Having a (fill in the blank here) years old Camaro with 1000 miles on it or whatever and having to visit it in my garage while in a wheelchair isn't my idea of living.
