When I purchased my ZL1 from the Houston area, it had two door dings on the passenger side, this was a car with 2600 miles, I noticed that, no problem righ?. So I get approval and tell them I will be back in 2 days to get the car, I should have told them not to touch anything.
When I came back, I knew something was wrong, the salesman met me inside the dealership, usually they walk you to the car, I get to the car, and look at the the clear on the carbon fiber ZL1 scoop had been burned through on the edge about a inch, and some unprofessional person put a razor on the inside windshield to remove the stickers, I didn't know that the windshield has a factory film( Probably for HUD) so I would have made that mistake, but I was so happy to get the car, I just drove off. I should have made them pay for the window and where the buffer burned through, but I didn't want them touching the car anymore.
I temporarily fixed the windshield with nail polish clear, and put nail polish on the carbon fiber panel, but the carbon fiber did slowly peel the clear before the polish fixed it. This all happened 4 years ago. This fall, I'm taking the carbon off, lightly sanding and applying 2K clear.
Were dealing with young kids or people making barely more than minimum wage and that's fine, we were all there a one point in time, I know I was, but not listening or taking pride in a job is a serious thing to me. And the person that listens and treat's people and there things with pride and honesty is the person who should succeed to the top, maybe even be a owner of a dealership.
It hurts, to see our hard earn things get missed handed, but that's why I do all my own work until I can't, then hopefully one of my children will or someone with a passion for this stuff. Or it will be time to sell the toys.
