With it just taking a flick of a switch, I would think SOMEBODY would have tested it on a dyno! Make a pull, cool the motor & flick the switch, test the other way - compare results. This seems to be the best Camaro sight I've found, so astonishing to me that nobody has done this!

Pontiac had a similar system back in '70 or so, called VOE. Vacuum operated mufflers. With the crappy metallurgy of the time, those mufflers only lasted a few years and the factory quickly discontinued them. Some people may know of Tom Hand (son of Jim Hand, for Pontiac aficionados) - Tom is a bit of an exhaust system guru, and made some modern VOE mufflers a few years back.

I contacted Tom, as I was close to needing new mufflers, and asked about the performance of his VOE's. He said they were just for sounding cool at the drive-in, zero performance gain.

I do not have a Camaro, yet. Lifelong Firebird guy, but I REALLY appreciate the current Camaro and LT1. I've got a 2001 Formula hard top with 32k original miles, and seriously considering selling it. I also have a '73 Trans Am clone - I love the T/A, but it is starting to look like other people may think it is worth more than I do... so I may sell both of them and order a new Camaro.

The NPP was an option that I could not make up my mind about - but now I think I'll skip it.

Now I have to decide if I want a stripped down LT1, or accept that I'm getting old and need the creature comforts of the 2SS :-)
