Thanks for the insight, everyone - I appreciate it! At the end of the day I decided to fly and drive, and I am glad I did - it was a great way to break in the car and enjoy the new purchase. She drives like a dream, and going through the Smoky Mountains in TN was worth having a few extra miles on it from the start.

I read too many concerning reviews with a multitude of shipping companies which made me too nervous to trust any of them, lol. Especially as this car has sentimental meaning to me as well (wont bore you with my story). Not to mention, the cost of shipping a car these days is astronomical compared to the past.
