Yes but also, downshifting bad or missing a shift can take you out of the track.
Like 5th to 2nd you can lock up the rear tires and spin out.
I had pressure plates rivets breaking while shifting at 6k rpm. Did 4 clutches until I got a race clutch with no dampening at all to fix the issue.
They both have pros and cons. Autos seems to explode under weird shifting scenarios. Burnouts and dynos. Both scenarios trick the computer at some point.
