Also, not everyone is on board with EV. I don't know any of my friends or family who want one. The company that continues to offer regular gasoline V6 and V8 engines that are not hybrids will be the one who makes the most profit 20 years from now, mark my words.

The issue you are ignoring is the next round of emissions regulations is going to kill the V8 and V6. This is why Dodge is in the “final call” for Charger and Challenger. It’s why the new Traverse has a turbo 4 cylinder and no V6 (same for VW Atlas btw). You can hang on as long as you can but a V8 will likely live on only in Trucks.
