I'll be honest and admit I have no idea (beyond saving $$$) why they would make these anchor points the way they did. I don't even think lifting by pinch welds is a good idea, because it seems like they'll always fold-up with a floor jack. Maybe the engineers don't care about that, but it would have been nice for them to have given us some good lift points for the front.

I added some el cheapo pinch weld lift points shortly after buying. I, also, accidently damaged those lift points a little, thinking a 2 x 4 might work. I learned the hard way it didn't, though, not to the point of these images. These https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1?ie=UTF8&th=1 have served me well, and for cheap. I'd recommend them to anyone.
