LT1 has calipers with screwed pistons. The electric motor moves the piston forward and engages the brake pads. In this case the fluid is also moving and you will feel it in the pedal.

They are complete different systems.
That is really interesting information. I'll check ACDelcoTDS and see what the service manual says.
