Looking to buy myself a set of dedicated drag wheels and tires. I currently run a Michelin A/S 4 for the street, and it’s good, but I want to have a different tire and wheel set up for the street and strip.

I’ve seen people recommend a bias ply for manual transmissions, but as I live a fair distance away from the track that’s not an option for me. I’m looking to get a drag radial or DR equivalent to perform not just on the strip but on the street as well, and a bias ply isn’t going to do that.

I currently have the Toyo R888 and R888r on my radar, but I wanted ya’lls opinion on a tire that’s still gonna hook while minimizing possible breakage.
