Sounds like Microsoft renaming bugs they can't resolve "features". Any unmetered air/fuel/other going into a combustion chamber is not desirable. Modern 4-stroke synthetic oil is not made to cleanly combust and will result in soot/ash/carbon on your valves. Venting the PCV to the atmosphere would be best for your engine, but not the environment, so a closed loop catch-can is a good compromise.
