This is what I remember from watching one of the auto detail Youtube channels I subscribe to from a while back: Yes I believe leather seats today have a coating on them already. There were leather seats from years ago, mostly England, that were pure leather. They would get a natural age effect over time.



This is my personal experience: I use Meguiars All Purpose cleaner on both cloth or leather. Conditioner makes them a little slicker, and it smells good, might offer little more protection. But I think using a good cleaner is more important than conditioner. So you can get rid of abrasive dirt and acidic sweat/body oil/food stains, etc.
