Sounds like Chevy tells dealers what they can and can’t order when they send allocations out on Thursdays. It’s not just a matter of getting an allocation for a Camaro period, perhaps sometime GM gives the dealer several trim options to possibly order I don’t know. My dealer specifically told me the allocation they had available was for a 2SS 1LE which is what my build was for.

This sounds correct in my experience as well. The dealership will call saying they got allocation for a SS model and if I want to change my order from a ZL1 to a SS I can have that build slot. I pass on it and don't lose my priority 1 status for a ZL1. I'm curious why they would get allocation for a SS and not a ZL1 if there are no part constraints on building a ZL1.
