You need a factory service manual so that you can do the proper checks on the system. Even then you are going to hit a dead end when it comes to module replacement as those have to be programed, unless you have your own pass through device and a subscription to GM's service system. The manual for that model is available on CD for pretty cheap on eBay. You will also need a quality scanner that can look at the body control modules.

With frontal damage, I expect air bag deployment. If that was the case, it could have damaged the buttons.
