I'm with BunnyBoy. I have never bought a new performance car- I have always bought used. I think it depends on your tolerance. I wouldn't hesitate on a used 2017, but that's me. I bought mine sight unseen last year, and had it delivered. Granted, I had a LOT of extra pictures taken, and asked a LOT of extra questions, but it's been everything I expected it to be.

So, for me, if you're the kind of person that just wants to drive it, take it in for oil changes and regular maintenance, and are concerned about a warranty, then maybe you want a new car.

If you are going to mod it, like turning wrenches, and/or own one of those shirts that says "I am the warranty" then do your due diligence on the 2017 and go get it if it fits the bill!

I'm in the "I am the warranty" camp (though I don't have the t-shirt...)
