Keep in mind, GM has no wing on the COPO's, the car they built just for the purpose of drag racing. More important than the wing, is likely the DSSV suspension and its inability to transfer weight as good as the mag ride in the cushy "tour" mode.

Yep, there's no free lunch, you can't buy a 1LE which is designed for road racing and expect it to perform as well as the standard ZL1 at a drag strip, compromises are made to optimize road course performance.
