That is correct. If you are really serious about drag racing, you can spend thousands of dollars to lose one tenth, and the faster you get, the more it costs and the more you have to do to shave that time off.
Keep in mind, GM has no wing on the COPO's, the car they built just for the purpose of drag racing. More important than the wing, is likely the DSSV suspension and its inability to transfer weight as good as the mag ride in the cushy "tour" mode.
