The most I had ever seen a stock LT1 fuel system support on 93 was 650whp with a cam. That was the general consensus when discussed in past around here. Which is why upgrading the fuel system has been recommended for years now.
We know the stock LT1 fuel system is good to 550whp on an honest dyno. Add a bigger fuel lobe cam will net another 100whp of fuel headroom on the high side. The cam is going to make the extra 100whp without increasing boost, so you are always up against the LT1 fuel systems limits...hence why nobody runs it on a DI only setup with boost.
So, I will assume there must be a shortage on fuel system components, because I don't really see Brett recommending this setup. Had to be a "make do" situation until fuel system parts show up.

The problem with “yo dawg my car made XXX HP on stock stuff” posts on social media is you don’t get the full story. That car probably has 6.4 ms IPW at 5800 RPM but because it has forged pistons and a lower CR…he got away with it. Doesn’t make it a good idea.
