Apologies if I indicated the wrong tire. I meant the PS4S.

I chose this tire because I do mostly street driving. This tire offers really good traction and decent wet weather traction. I also live in SoCal. The Sport Cup tires have great traction but are closer to ice skates in wet weather. I might use these if I were doing track days or if I only drove the car when the weather was nice. I used mine as a daily driver for the first couple of years. So driving in the rain was an important consideration to me.

I also went with the non-run flats. I find that the stiff sidewall greatly reduces the tires ability to communicate that its about to lose traction. The side wall flex can be felt in your butt dyno. Over time you develop an understanding about how much flex your sidewall provides before loss of traction. In my opinion the run flats don't communicate at all. They go from 100% grip to 0% grip instantly. I also prefer the ride you get with a traditional side wall tire. This is also why the rear control arm rubber bushings were terrible. They communicated loss of traction before it actually happened because they flexed so much. The 1LE urethane bushings don't flex like rubber bushings and thus communicate more accurate information to the driver.

Hopefully, this makes sense. I tried to explain a fairly abstract driving technique in very simple terms. I'm sure many on this forum understand this completely. This is incase some don't. Ever wonder why race cars all have fairly large side wall tires and not the ultra tiny side walls that some of the import cars run/ran? Without the side wall they would never know when the tire was about to break traction. The flex in the side is how a tire communicates.

As previously mentioned, most of this is based on personnel preference. So tire selection comes down to how you intend to use the car and your tire preference for that activity.
