In general, if you have the stock suspension setup and run the ZL1 1LE spec rims and never intend to set the camber for the track then you do not need to grind it.

You can use a 5mm or so spacer and be ok as well.

Anything rim 18" or smaller over 10" wide, you'll need to grind it.

And if you have a car with the copper free brake option, you CANNOT run 18" rims as the calipers and rotors are larger.
Yeah I've read that, but I still end up confused. It was my understanding that what I circled in red was grinding the bracket, which may or may not be necessary for 19" wheels. However, grinding the red AND blue, the knuckle, was required for 18" wheels. It doesn't look like the knuckle itself was ground in this image, just the bracket, unless I've missed something.
