Casper, the first engine GM replaced on their nickel because one of the valve springs broke and at the time there was a GM recall because there were some batches of them that they found to be defective from their supplier. So it dropped a valve and hit the piston causing catastrophic damage.
On the current LME 416 set up there are about 6000 miles on it (daily driving) and about 8 track days. This engine is pretty much bullet proof or so they say.
Had this NOT been a daily driver as well I probably would have done a dry sump on it as TED suggested earlier.
