I would this is very doable for anyone who is mechanically inclined, has the proper tools, time, patience and a few buddys to help. There are definitely some tricky portions but nothing some research, and GM service manual can't overcome
I also strongly recommend partnering with a speed shop to spec the parts, rather than going complete DIY and potentially having conflict.

Thank you for answering, I had all the tools you mentioned, up north before we moved ,and turned a chapter in life, down sized and thought I was done when we bought my last muscle car down with us, to to sell at Mecon in Az last March . A neighbor wanted it so much I sold it to him (1970 Camaro SS ) . The wife noticed a void so suggested a modern Performance Car, to I purchased a 22 SS and Drag Raced it earlier this year in the Summit ET racing series at Wild horse Motorsports Park , what a blast , sold the car season ending in May stock SS runs 12.17 @ 114.47 all day. So another void ordered a 23 ZL1 and took Delivery September 24 , so we're enjoying the car and at my age (or any age ) enjoying life. Sorry got carried away .
Looking forward to more enjoyable progress and videos of yours Enjoy Thanks. Happy Motoring
