Yeah, I was one of the first 20 GTO’s ordered in late 2003 prior to the 2004 release. It was supposed to be Impulse Blue Metallic with a blue interior. Literally a 1,000 cars were built before mine and we could never get a straight answer from GM. Sad part is my Dad worked for GM for 35 years and we still couldn’t get a straight answer from Holden/GM. I finally cancelled my order.
I bought my first CTS-V from DeLorean Cadillac (yes, John DeLorean’s brother). Those cars had so much promise with the LS6. The rear diff’ let them down. I grenaded 6 of them in 2 different CTS-V’s and switched to SRT8’s. My last made 725rwhp until we ran out of fuel so we detuned it to 650rwhp. Ran 10.70’s all day long and kept it until the odometer hit 115K…..no issues, just wanted to switch back to GM.
Still a little salty about the GTO, but in hindsight, those 2004’s turned out to be turds and the 6.0’s were the ones to buy.
