Ah, you plan to do it yourself hey? Cool if you are able too. Me personally, that would have been something I'd let the GM Dealer do. Just seems like there would be a lot more to it then simply replacing the harness. Resetting codes, etc.. not sure... not something I've ever attempted and with all the electronics in these cars today... I know here by me, the dealer wouldn't do it if I brought the harness to them. They will not install parts you do not buy from them. I wouldn't trust an Indy. Not for that anyway. Just me...
Sounds like you will also need to do something to the new harness to keep it from happening again I'd assume? When you said header, I am assuming you put in an aftermarket header, which is what caused the problem to begin with?
