100000% agree but I was making this statement from a 'base car vs base car' analogy and once we start modifying cars, we really start having an apples vs oranges comparison on cars. Don't get me wrong, you have a beast of a machine, and even with my 2650 Maggie I am not making that much RWHP. I decided to not upgrade the fueling or add a cam and know I didn't need a 2650 to make the power I'm at but also don't like the idea of murdering the stock blower. I have lots of head room to go up if I want to now. GM does indeed have those constraints you mentioned, they are in a business to make money and also, they can't out due their flagship Corvette with a Camaro....
