You need to unhook that panel by pressing the plastic clamps on its sides, then pull it horizontally towards you, away from the battery, it will slide off

. I just replaced my battery a few days ago, it wasn't particularly difficult (except for one of the tiedown bolts, I had to use a twisty wrench extension, which I don't particularly like).
How does your quick connect harness attach? Can't you just add it to one of the blank positive terminal hookups (meaning you don't have to remove positive terminal at all, only the cover)?
