GM will build ICE and BEV versions of Blazer, Equinox, and Silverado. But then, those nameplates are selling in the hundreds of thousands, not low tens. This makes sense because they can’t ramp up production of the EV versions fast enough to completely replace the ICE versions, so they will likely overlap for a couple years. Plus, sales of ICE Silverado, Blazer, Equinox, and Escalade are what’s keeping the company afloat until the EVs start to turn a profit, so it makes sense to keep them around for a bit.
