Nothing “hardware” handling wise changed from the time the LT1 was introduced till now. One thing that may be different with your current car is the alignment. Mine was scary vague @ 30-50 mph during while turning in on ramps. It was all over the place floaty at 80+ highway or even worse at full throttle highway. I knew this had to be an alignment issue as I had two previous 6th Gen that didn’t have these issues.
My guess is your first car was like mine (before I got an alignment) and your new one is just better aligned.
