It shouldn't be surprising to anyone, all things withstanding, that on a track where the car can stretch its legs, the ZL1 will be quicker than the SS 1LE. If you look at Throttle House and their records, the SS 1LE on Cup 2's (1:11.58) is shockingly close to the ZL1 1LE (1:11.12) around their test track. Granted, you can argue the tire differences but, I think it is more of a testament to how well sorted the SS 1LE is. I'd bet money that with similar horsepower, albeit less torque than the ZL1 or ZL1 1LE, with equal drivers, the SS 1LE will match or beat those cars on the same tires.
