Do ICE downloads make it so you can't put gas in it? Can EVs likely be told to limit charging time or usage? Or disallow charging altogether?...."Climate Emergency" anyone? Grid down or crisis mode engaged....
When "renewables" are more prevalent, look for EVs to fulfill their true mission of saving the planet by becoming completely unusable. When the wind doesn't blow, or the sun doesn't shine, or the grid is near maxed out for whatever reason, control of EVs will be on a silver platter for the crisis creating, crisis and electricity managing bureaucrats to do what is best for the common good. That is, just shut things off or the ever popular rationing. Fossil fuel generation will be eliminated in favor of the Green New Boondoggle. The EV you think you own will be only allowed limited use, if any.
Think it won't or can't happen? Good luck. Managing "your EV car" and it's precious electricity use will be child's play for the "cloud" and whoever controls it.
Gas powered, not likely near the same nightmare as techy EVs.
