I've heard quite a few rumours about the 2019 version of the SS 1LE receiving a revised ABS Control Module that supposedly addresses the hard pedal/ice mode issue. Is there any truth to this? If so would you happen to know the part # for the revised module?
Response
Hi Tom, the short answer is yes. We revised the calibration to be more robust to non-stock tires with an aim to give better performance for your type of usage.
This is a MY19 update. It can't be flashed into a MY17 Camaro.

Will the part number stay the same should I be able to find a MY2019 in a junk yard some day?
Response
What does work is moving a MY19 module (of exact Camaro SS 1LE specs) to a MY17-18 SS 1LE. This voids the warranty and is not approved or an authorized modification. I speak only from a motorsports enthusiast perspective. GM can not authorize this mod.
Response
The black box "EBCM" Has a part number, but that's just for a V8 Camaro. The calibration in it is flashed into it and matches the type of Camaro. "SS 1LE" in this case. You wouldn't want a base Camaro SS Calibration.
Your options are junkyard...or convincing a dealer to pull one, and you pay to replace it...

Was this module changed for the 2019MY specific to the SS 1LE or did all camaro variants receive a revised module?
Response
All variants have a new partnumber for 2019+

Are they all still unique ss, ss 1le, zl1, zl1 1le?
Response
There are three modules; one for the turbo 4 and V6, one for nearly all V8 cars and one for the new mid-level/entry V8 LT1 Camaro.
Each of those then needs a specific software for individual variant. Specific to transmission, brake package size (rotor and caliper), NPP exhaust, 1LE, and suspension option )passive or MR.
Putting a MY19 SS Auto EBCM into a MY17 SS 1LE will break things because the software won't see the right trans, brakes won't be sized properly for caliper or rotor so it software logic might think a caliper is leaking...
Need a module from an exact duplicate car for the transplant to work.
GM doesn't authorize this because the software has changed and was never validated in older cars.

Ok, thanks! Looks like the ZLE ABS module may not be ideal as described above, it doesn't have MRC and the brakes are different too. The thought it might actually "break things" is concerning and it would be nice to avoid that!
I agree the cause of ice mode is understandable and correctable, I avoided it my last 2 runs but it also ruined my confidence as the place it happened was a 75 to 30 mph braking zone, I made sure there wasn't any steering inputs initiating braking and sure enough no ice mode! Some of the faster cars were hitting over 85 mph!
I did find an exact match with the same seller, a '19 SLE w/6MT. I suppose ice mode is still possible but it should be an improvement and won't break anything.
I don't think it'll be that much work as it looks like all that needs to be done is r&r the electronics module, I don't think replacing the entire pump assembly is required.
