Carburetors forever!" Seems like not that long ago for me.
I'm not opposed to the adoption to EV's, but I am opposed to the way they are being presented today as comparable replacement to ICE vehicles when they're not truly at that level, and how the market wants you to shift and change your driving behavior to adopt to a car that typically costs more upfront to purchase than a comparable ICE vehicle. The Hyndai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 for example cost about $15k more than their comparable ICE counterparts, which is well outside of the price range of the prospective buyer for those types of vehicles, but they have less range and require more adoption to utilize with current technology and infrastructure. EV's currently are an alternative to ICE vehicles, not a replacement for them. Now don't mistake me, they are still great vehicle's in their own right.. ..but we're not being fed the full truth about them.

I have no doubt that EV's are ultimately more efficient and the future, but unlike fuel injection, this shift isn't happening because of market demand presenting superior technology in terms of functionality, this shift is coming from the top with major bans of ICE vehicle productions by 2025 - 2035 in many countries and in some countries even banning used ICE vehicles from entering the market by 2030.

The other issue is, have you noticed that China has seemingly a much wider array of affordable EV vehicles (vehicles in the $30k price range) that actually offer decent range (300+ miles) and some even including swappable batteries (which eliminates range anxiety) where as in America we are told range anxiety is a psychological problem and we arent given many choices for affordable EV options? They are targeted toward the luxury car buyer. It makes me wonder if the transition has nothing to do with switching everyone to EV's, but rather take as many vehicles off the road and inhibit traveling altogether...
