What you are describing sounds like traction control/ stability control kicking in. Just putting the ZLE in track mode is pretty invasive especially when putting down power coming out of corners. If you watch the PDR video, and you did track overlay, it will show the traction control icon blinking as it is engaging. It does not necessarily mean the car was sliding, or that the wheels were spinning, I believe it is more based on yaw rate or throttle position vs. steering angle vs. speed. It is more of a prevention of oversteer than a correction of oversteer approach by the car. Once in Track mode, you can tap the traction control button once or twice and it will bring up the PTM modes on the display screen. The default is wet mode which is allowing only minimal throttle when there is steering input. Each mode you bump up will be less restrictive.
If there were a mechanical issue with the car, most likely it would be throwing a code and going into limp mode.
